(By Rajeev Saxena )Do you know that Khajjiar, located in the Chamba Valley of Himachal Pradesh, is called “Mini Switzerland of India” because it is one of the few places in the world that closely resembles Switzerland in terms of topography. This place is one of the few places in the world that bears a tropical resemblance to Switzerland. In 1992, the Swiss Chancellor officially named Khajjiar as Mini Switzerland. He also inaugurated a walking trail that shows the distance between Khajjiar and Bern (the Swiss capital). A Khajjiar stone was also placed in the garden of the Swiss Parliament in Bern.

Khajjiar, a picturesque village, is located in the Chamba Valley of Himachal Pradesh and is a natural paradise. Khajjiar is surrounded by dense alpine forests and beautiful green meadows, with a lake in the middle. Thus Khajjiar offers a rare combination of three ecosystems, lakes, grasslands and forests. One can also get a view of the majestic Dhauladhar mountain range of the Himalayas from here.
