Located only 40 km away from the Taj city Agra, Barhan Junction is one of the oldest stations. At some distance near the station, there is an attractive structure like an ancient tower. It can be properly observed by climbing the over-bridge. This was an old well built by the East Indian Railway in 1948, the water of which was used in olden times for steam engines and later for the station complex. It had dried up and fallen out of use almost two decades ago in the 1980s, and was later declared a protected relic of national interest. People come to a beautiful temple near this station early in the morning for prayers.
