Thailand will implement a new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system for visa-free travellers from December 1, 2024 to facilitate visitors from 93 countries, including India. This will be very convenient for countries that do not require a visa to enter Thailand. Each approved ETA will allow a single entry and will be valid for up to 60 days for each visit, with the option to extend for an additional 30 days.
Travelers will be able to apply for ETA online. There will be no application fee for this, making it a straightforward process for travellers. The e-visa system will continue to operate alongside the ETA. It is planned to integrate both systems into a unified online application process by June 2025.
