Satyajit Ray’s iconic film Aranyer Din Ratri (Days and Nights in the Forest), turns 50 this year.
Ray’s movie Pather Panchali is being also globally marked.Pather Panchali ( Song of the Little Road) is a 1955 Indian Bengali-language drama film written and directed by Satyajit Ray and produced by the Government of West Bengal.Pather Panchali won the ‘most moving human document’ award at Cannes in 1956.
The first film in The Apu Trilogy, Pather Panchali depicts the childhood of the protagonist Apu (Subir Banerjee) and his elder sister Durga (Uma Dasgupta) and the harsh village life of their poor family.
