Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome from the Indian community in Kuwait, the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 43 years. Among those who met him during the visit was 101-year-old Mangal Sen Handa, a retired Indian Foreign Service officer who now lives in Kuwait. He had served India in Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Iraq, China, Argentina and Cambodia before retiring in 2015. Mr Modi not only exchanged greetings with Handa, a retired Indian Foreign Service officer, but also posed for photographs with his family. Mr Handa’s granddaughter Shreya Juneja had posted a message for the Prime Minister, requesting him to meet her grandfather during his visit to Kuwait.
