Bhopal-Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met a delegation of International Solar Alliance at the Mantralaya. He said that Madhya Pradesh is leading state in tapping solar energy.He said that Madhya Pradesh has attained success in obtaining solar energy production rate at the lowest cost. At a time when solar energy production rate was more than Rs 4 in the world, Madhya Pradesh succeeded in solar energy production at the lowest rate of Rs 2.97 paisa. Terming solar energy as the future energy he said that a task force has been formed to promote use of solar energy in Madhya Pradesh. Use of solar energy for cooking is being encouraged.
CM Shri Chouhan told the delegation that there are vast possibilities of solar energy in Madhya Pradesh as sunlight is available in abundance. Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is the leading state in the country in establishing the best projects for utilization of solar energy. He told that the world’s biggest 750 MW solar energy project has been set up in Rewa. Similarly in Neemuch, 135 MW project has been set up which is the biggest project in Asia. In Mandsaur also 250 MW solar energy project is soon going to come up.
