The Kind hourr Foundation, led by artist and animal welfare champion Mauli Mehrotra, helps street dogs. ‘The Kind Hour Foundation’, founded by Mauli Mehrotra, an animal welfare champion and visual artist from Lucknow, started as a personal passion project. At the age of 23.The young woman started feeding, rescuing and caring for the dogs around her house. She was very sensitive towards animals since childhood.
Initially, Mauli started taking responsibility of about 200 dogs alone every day for a year. But soon she realized that it was not possible to continue the work alone. Now a large number of people are joining the foundation. Through the foundation, people are turning their love for animals into a movement. Mouli Mehrotra wants that it is very important to sensitize children especially towards animals, their emotions, their needs and empathy towards them. Being an artist, she is also taking the help of street art to make people aware about animals.
