Germany will launch digital Schengen visa for Indian visitors by the second quarter of 2025. It takes less than four weeks for applicants from South India to get a Schengen visa from the German mission. The Schengen visa covers most European countries. The world’s largest free travel zone, it spans 29 countries that have closed their internal borders to allow unrestricted movement of people. Schengen visas allow any visitor to travel freely within the Schengen area for a maximum of 90 days in 180 days. Visas are not purpose-bound, but they do require work permits.
