Popular Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty, who turned from a film star to a BJP leader, announced his retirement from politics, saying that from now on he will devote his time to films and not politics. The film star campaigned extensively for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2021 assembly elections and the 2024 general elections.
After casting his vote in Kolkata, he said, “Enough is enough, now I am not in politics… Now I have decided that I will quit politics and give more of my time to films because I have to take care of my family and earn my livelihood.”
