We remember our environment on 5th June every year on the occasion of World Environment Day. The theme for 2023 is “Beat Plastic Pollution”. Today plastic has become one of the biggest barriers between nature and man. It has become very difficult for us to get freedom from plastic. We are now heavily dependent on plastic. Plastic has changed the structure of our planet. Every part of the earth air, water and land is polluted with plastic. You probably know that more than 400 million tonnes of plastic is manufactured every year and about half of it is made for only one use. Only less than 10% is reused or recovered. Just think, 19 to 23 million tonnes of garbage gets absorbed in lakes, rivers and seas.
