Australia has increased the international student visa fee from 710 dollars to 1,600 Australian dollars from July 1, 2024. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh expressed concern over this and said that this increase may put financial pressure on students seeking education opportunities in Australia. India has also raised this issue with the Australian government. The Minister of State for External Affairs also reiterated the importance of education partnership between India and Australia and described it as an important element of the relationship between the two countries. He said that our Ministry of External Affairs maintains constant contact with the Australian government on matters related to Indian students studying in Australia.
