Agra Municipal Corporation has sent a notice for payment of property tax of Rs 1.40 lakh and water tax of about Rs 1 crore for historical monument Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal has been issued a notice for property tax and water bill for the first time in its 370-year history. This notice has been issued to ASI Agra. The Agra office of the Archaeological Survey of India is saying that it is a mistake. The ASI officer says that property tax or house tax is not applicable on the historical monument complex. ASI said we do not have any water connection which is used for any commercial purpose. It is said that the ASI has so far received three notices, two in the context of Taj Mahal and one in Agra Fort. It is also pertinent to mention here that for the first time in its 370-year history, Taj Mahal has been issued a notice for property tax and water tax.
