Two leading Democrats Mr Jerrold Nadler Chairman of House Judiciary Committee and Immigration and Mr Zoe Lofgrenhave chairman of Citizenship Subcommittee criticized Trump administration’s proposed new rules targeting H-1B visas used extensively by Indian tech professionals. But on other hand a top Republican senator has hailed the move saying it would curb abuse of the program.

Both Democrats leaders decried the move as an attempt to score last minute political points just before presidential election.

H-1B visa new rules would narrow the definition of “specialty occupation” and shorten the length of visas for workers placed in third party sites from three years to one year.
